Freename at ICANN Istanbul
Freename had an incredible experience this past week at the ICANN event in Istanbul, Turkey! This annual gathering, hosted by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), brought together the world’s top minds in internet technology, policy, and security to explore the latest advancements and opportunities shaping the global digital landscape. The Istanbul event saw thousands of attendees from over 70 countries, including influential leaders, technical experts, and emerging innovators—all working to envision and build the future of the internet.
ICANN events are pivotal for discussing how internet systems, like the Domain Name System (DNS), should be managed on a global scale. As the internet becomes increasingly decentralized, discussions at ICANN have also shifted toward blockchain and decentralized web technologies, a space where Freename has been actively leading the charge. Freename’s focus at this year’s ICANN event was clear: to connect with industry leaders, explore strategic partnerships, and drive the future of blockchain-powered internet innovations.
The event was an invaluable opportunity to meet influential figures, whose work in blockchain has helped pave the way for major advancements in the sector. We were thrilled to connect with them, among many others, and discuss future collaborations that will support our shared vision for a more innovative, accessible internet.
Throughout the week, we had exciting discussions with registrars and other key stakeholders about upcoming integrations. These partnerships are set to enhance Freename’s capabilities, expand our reach, and help realize a decentralized internet future—powered by blockchain and secure, user-first technologies.
Freename is proud to be leading blockchain-based internet innovation alongside our amazing partners. We’re actively building a more open, inclusive, and secure internet ecosystem. ICANN Istanbul was just the beginning of more impactful collaborations and developments to come. We’re excited for what lies ahead and look forward to seeing everyone at the next ICANN event!
